Reasons why Impaled Nazarene became religion for me in extreme music format.

As a young man, and still trying to get to know extreme metal, bands like Krisiun ... Dimmu Borgir ... Cradle of Filth were the most familiar to me. Until the day (which I would never forget) when I joined a CD store at the Rock Gallery in São Paulo (my city) ... and I alongside a person who accompanied me on these journeys ... we could enjoy several bands. (thanks to the store salesman who made a point of unwrapping the CD and putting it on to listen) so I could get a sense of what I could shell out for money without blinking.



Finnish band IMPALED NAZARENE's first album ... Tol Cormpt Norz Norz Norz ... was really the CD that caught my attention. The introduction by vocalist Mika Luttinen anticipating such a hell of a sound from the album ... was already something that left the other extreme bands on a lower level ... and when that is not a tone of unworthiness ... but in the sense of Tol Cormpt Norz Norz Norz sound a lot dirtier ... blasphemous and even original ... out of sameness than Black Metal had become over the years with the success of the bands mentioned above.



The day I lived inside the Rock Gallery store ... knowing the importance of the album Tol Cormpt Norz Norz Norz ... was unique ... because that day never came back ... other than that I had comings and goings of ballads and unsuccessful friendships and other things I would rather not comment on. I had heard of Impaled Nazarene ... in a well-crafted review for ROCK BRIGADE magazine ... a Brazilian publication that was still loyal to metal at the time. The review I read was related to the album "Rapture" ... showing that the band acquired cohesion and maturity in the songs ... but luckily for me ... Tol Cormpt Norz Norz Norz was the definitive starting point so I could become a frequent follower of the band ... so that I could follow the various works and formations of the band.



It was a harbinger of carnival in Brazil ... the year was 2000 and little ... the beginning of the new millennium ... the beginning of the end! My mind was infested with horror movies (several of them Italian) ... extreme music and Silvia Saint level pornography ... I need a musical soundtrack for that ... and Tol Cormpt Norz Norz Norz was the one. I could spend hours highlighting some tracks in particular ... such as the magnificent Mortification / Blood Red Razor Blade and the angry ... Oath: Darbs Lucifero ... but the work itself is worthy of applause ... all the tracks are more than how special. After that came Ugra-Karma ... Suomi Finland Perkele ... Latex Cult ... Rapture ... and others. But nothing can be compared with Tol Cormpt Norz Norz Norz ... today the band remains active and true to the their malevolent roots. Thank you Mr. Luttinen ... thank you IMPALED NAZARENE!
